ENGRAVING

When writing music, it is not enough just to have great ideas--these ideas must typically be conveyed to the performer through the medium of printed music. David is a professional music engraver who specializes in setting music using Finale notation software (he is also proficient with Sibelius). He is currently a copyist for the faculty at the Eastman School of Music, funded by the Howard Hanson Institute for American Music Publishing Initiative. David is known for his meticulous attention to detail, which comes across in every score he prepares. David is also very aware of the psychological impact the look of a score or part has on the performer; he designs each score and part to best convey the musical content while maintaining an eye on the practical concerns of the music's execution. David can engrave your music to your specifications, or you can let him judge the best format for its production.

Pricing varies depending on the scope and detail level of each project, but can be determined on an hourly basis, per measure/page, or as a fee for the project in its totality, whichever seems most appropriate. Factors include density of material, size of ensemble, length of piece, and timeline for completion. Contact David with the details of your project for an estimate.
